While between contracts and searching for my next contract, I found the site of an individual using Google Adwords to seek out possible contracts and cut out the middle man.  I actually called him and spoke to him about his experience with Google Adwords and he said it treated him well.

Since my expertise is AS/400 and Synon 2E , I was fortunate enough to find the domain synon2e.com .  I have not done much beyond registering the domain but I plan on researching using Google Adwords and put my experience and skills out on the net to see what kind of telecommute offers I can get.

So if you think this is a possibility for you, check out some of the domains using your technical expertise keywords and get them registered.  You don't have to get the site up but having the domain will help.
