I think that we need megadoses of naivety to think that Zelaya would have accepted his dismissal. Far from it, he would have dissolved the Congress, would have decreed a state of siege that would have bought loyalties in the army, would have called in his defense the military forces of Boliva, and would have done anything to sustain his power. [...]

The organization Unión de Organizaciones Democráticas de América or UnoAmérica / UNO wants José Miguel Insulza of the Organization of American States or OAS (English) and OEA (Español) to step down because of his comments during the Honduran crisis. Insulza said that it was a “conflict that could have been avoided”. UnoAmérica also accuses the OAS / OEA of being a front to promote dictators and weaken any democracy in latin nations. UnoAmérica want to know why he didn´t point out how Chavez and Ortega have committed voter fraud. Also, why he never congratulated Colombia´s Uribe over getting the worse criminal, Reyes, and saying they captured him in Ecuador territory. [...]

While President Obama was quick to deem the events in Honduras a Military Coup on June 29, 2009 – see video from BBC. Experts that have a bias from both perspectives do NOT call this a Military Coup. During an interview on the News Hour, Ray Suarez asks Roger Noriega a former ambassador to the Organization of American States in the Bush administration and Christopher Sabatini senior director of policy at the Americas Society, a think-tank focused on Latin America. Ray Suarez asks both men, “Was Manuel Zelaya removed from office in a coup?” [...]
